About Dr. Leon H. Warshay
Leon H. Warshay attained a PhD in Sociology from the University of Minnesota. He also holds an MA from the University of Chicago and a BA from Brooklyn College, both in Sociology.
He is Professor of Sociology at Wayne State University. He has also taught at Ohio State University and the University of Missouri at Kansas City.
At the University of Missouri at Kansas City he helped set up social science and social psychology MA curricula. At Ohio State University and Wayne State University he revised graduate programs as committee member and Chair. He currently teaches both undergraduate and graduate classes in Sociology.
He has published a previous sociological theory text The Current State of Sociological Theory with David MacKay Co. in New York. His published papers and chapters in collected readings, alone and with other co-authors, have been in sociological theory, social science, social psychology, feminist theory, and collective behavior and social movements. These have appeared in international as well as national journals, and include diverse topics such as personnel, community, urbanism, immigration, and world peace.
Dr. Warshay's most recent book Perspectives in Sociological Theory (2013) with Landon Elsemere Press is one of the largest historical and comparative theory texts in the field.
