About George P. Mason
Professor George Mason is a doctoral candidate at Wayne State University. He also holds an MA in Sociology and an BA in Sociology/Criminology/Psychology from the University of Manitoba.
Professor George Mason teaches both Labor Studies and Sociology at the University of Windsor. He has also taught for Wayne State University, University of Mihcigan and Bowling Green University.
His areas of focus include work, labor and labor movements, inequality, urban studis, and sociology of law. His current research is in the area of autoworkers' unions and educational workers' unions. Much of his research has been comparative between the United States and Canada.
His ongoing research has included the area of labor unions, social justice and inequality, and union communication and technology. The underlying theme found in his research is focus on culture and hegemony as it has historically developed under capitalism. He has also been involved with national and internaional academic organizations and labor unions.
His most recent publications with Landon Elsemere Press include "State Expenditures on the Criminal Justice System" and "Is Housing Discrimination a Relevant Social Justice Issue?" in Tridico, F., Pellerito, J., Armstrong, J. (Eds), (2012) Issues in Social Justice.
